Europe’s Largest BESS Project

GBGS were privileged to play a major role in the creation of Phase 1 of Europe’s largest battery storage facility in Teesside, England. The two month project was undertaken to provide engineered screw pile foundations for 54 BESS units and  54 PCS & Transformer units. Our five strong site team allocated to carry out the project, worked throughout the winter in some challenging conditions and quite appalling weather to complete the installation of the piles and fixings. GBGS completed the works on budget and ahead of schedule. GBGS Operations Director Cameron Toole said “We now have many further projects of this kind booked in throughout the next two years, and we are looking forward to playing our part in the quickly growing renewable energy sector.”
