Charities Receives a Boost From GBGS Community Fund
Local team Neville’s Cross Football Club held a charity golf day to raise money for two incredible charities, St. Cuthbert’s Hospice and The Motor Neurone Association. Both of these charities are close to our hearts as Managing Director Peter Toole explained “My family lost a long time friend to Motor Neurone disease a few years ago. It was heartbreaking how this debilitating disease took a fit and healthy man in such a short time. When we heard about the fundraiser supporting both MNDA along with St. Cuthbert’s Hospice (a charity we have long supported) we were only to happy to offer to match all donations made on the day.”
The event held at Durham City Golf Club was a huge success raising £3000 which our Community Fund matched, bringing the total to £6000. St. Cuthbert’s Hospice Community & Events Manager Jade McArdle said: “Your donation has taken the money raised to £3000 which will cover the cost of providing our full clinical services for 24 hours – Thank you……..we want to help make every day count for families in our care, and with your gesture, we can.”
