York City Walls Footbridge
When an environmentally and archaeologically sensitive foundation system was required GBGS installed the perfect solution.
The challenge
A footbridge was required to span one of the towers along the City Walls of York. The challenge was to provide a strong stable foundation to enable the construction of the footbridge to carry the thousands of tourists and sightseers who walk the walls every year. The site is of huge archeological importance, so a minimum impact solution needed to be found.
The solution
We were incredibly proud when we were approached to be involved in a project of such historical importance. Working closely with engineers, designers and archeologists we supplied and installed a series of our 2050mm ground screws quickly and accurately, providing a perfect, low impact solution to the challenge.
