Dulwich Pavilion
A multi-award winning project at The Dulwich Picture Gallery.
The challenge
This large structure was the winner of the Small Architecture Design of the Year Award, and was constructed to host a series of events throughout the summer of 2017.
The challenge was to provide a suitable foundation system capable of meeting the specifications, whilst offering the ability to return the lawns back to their natural state after the pavilion was removed.
The solution
GBGS worked closely with architects, designers and contractors and after considerable testing, provided a suitable, calculated layout exceeding the requirements stipulated. The ground screws were installed in less than one day with no spoil, mess or heavy machinery, allowing the construction to be undertaken immediately after completion.
After the building was removed, the ground screws were removed in two hours leaving only a series of small holes which, were simply filled and seeded to return the lawn back to its original state. GBGS are very proud to have been again awarded the contract to provide the foundations for this year’s pavilion. (Shown below)
